Wins and Losses on Recent PFAS Legislation

A number of bills regarding the regulation of PFAS were considered by the New Hampshire legislature this session. Five of the twelve bills passed, and are awaiting the governor’s signature, including a bill which will inform home buyers of PFAS contamination on properties for sale, and one to apportion funds for groundwater infrastructure improvements. Other bills, including one to limit PFAS in packaging and another to remove the statute of limitations on civil actions regarding PFAS injury, were sent to committee for further study.

Bills which would have required insurance for preventative PFAS care and which would require facilities where PFAS is used to pay for blood testing for those injured by PFAS, were struck down.
