Free Battery Recycling Program Comes to Staples Retailers

Are we the only ones who have a drawer full of old batteries somewhere that we’ve never figured out how to recycle?

Staples and electronics asset disposition provider ERI, in partnership with Call2Recycle and Energizer, are working to solve that problem for consumers by providing free battery recycling at Staples Retailers. The partnership, which began in 2009, has already recycled more than 150 million pounds of technology.

Industry spokespeople now acknowledge what research has long shown: that recycling programs which minimize friction to the consumer are by far the most successful. The program is also good for business, as Staples has found that customers who participate in the recycling program have returned to the store more frequently and spent more on their visits.
