Luu reports on the Composting Consortium’s study into the extent to which compostable packaging is being processed within large scale anaerobic digestion facilities in the U.S. Ultimately the study found that most AD facility in the US are not suitable for the composting of such packaging, revealing a serious mismatch between the kinds of materials that are being used in food services and the kinds of recycling that is current available in the U.S.
